SVN Checkout Instructions

Using TortoiseSVN (Windows - Recommended)

Download and install TortoiseSVN
Create a new folder for your map (e.g., C:\DayZ\Maps\BoraBora)
Right-click the folder and select "SVN Checkout..."
Enter the repository URL and click OK
Enter your credentials when prompted

Using Command Line

Guidelines & Rules

⚡ SVN Best Practices

Always lock large binary files (.p3d, .paa, .emat) before editing to prevent conflicts
Commit often in logical chunks with clear messages (e.g., "Added coastal rocks to grid 045-023")
Update before you commit - run SVN update to get latest changes first
Use descriptive commit messages - include what, where, and why
Don't commit broken content - test your changes locally first
Communicate in Discord before major structural changes

File Naming Conventions

Objects: bb_category_name_variant.p3d (e.g., bb_building_house_01.p3d)
Textures: bb_surface_type_co.paa (e.g., bb_grass_tropical_co.paa)
Layers: Descriptive names matching map regions (e.g., coastal_lowland, mountain_ridge)

Conflict Resolution

If you encounter a conflict, contact the other contributor in Discord immediately
For terrain conflicts, the most recent edit usually takes priority (discuss first)
For object placement conflicts, use SVN's conflict resolver or manually merge
Never force-commit over someone else's work without discussion
